The quilt pattern was designed and made by Janet Bottroff, owner of Bluebird Quilt Shop in Grand Terrace, California.  If you want to purchase a Coffin Star Quilt pin (pictured below), you can do so from Janet for six dollars plus tax.  You'll have to call the quilt store as I don't think she has a website working yet.  Her toll free phone number is: (877) 757-0333.  Her email is: bluebirdquilts@att.net

Coffin Star Quilters
(from Benni Harper mysteries)

The oak tree reminds us that the members reside at the Oak Terrace Retirement Home in San Celina, California The gravestone shows what an actual Coffin Star block looks like--a kind of checkerboard on point. The five coffin shapes create a star. A spider web in the middle where they meet indicates that the quilters are mentioned in the book Spider Web (though they are also in other books in the series).

You can purchase the pin (see information above).  The pens, however, are not for sale.

Designed by Janet Bottroff with input from Earlene Fowler.
